1. La Rambla
La Rambla is a street in central Barcelona that is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. The street is lined with foliage, and is home to a number of cafes, restaurants, and shops. La Rambla is also a great place to people watch, as it is always full of tourists and locals alike.
This tree-lined promenade is full of photogenic spots, from the stunning mosaic of Antoni Gaudí to the vibrant flower stalls. Be sure to keep your camera handy – you’ll want to capture the memories of your visit to this incredible place.
2. Park Güell
Park Güell is a public park located on a hill in Barcelona. The park was designed by Antoni Gaudí, and features a number of unique buildings and sculptures. It’s also a great place to get a panoramic view of the city.
There are three must-visit spots in the park. Make your way up to the Hypostyle Room, where you’ll find an incredible array of columns adorned with mosaic tiles. The light filtering in through the windows creates a beautiful effect, and the patterns on the columns make for an interesting foreground for your shots.
Next, head to the dragon stairs for another dose of mosaic magic. The colourful dragon sculpture at the top of the stairs is definitely worthy of a few photos, but don’t forget to take some wide shots that include the steps themselves. The different colours and shapes make for a stunning abstract image.
Finally, no visit to Park Güell would be complete without getting a shot of the famous lizard statue, perched atop one of the largest mosaicked walls in the park. For the best results, try to get up close so that the lizard fills most of the frame. And if you’re really lucky, you might even spot a real lizard basking in the sun nearby!
3. La Sagrada Familia
Another one of Gaudí’s masterpieces, La Sagrada Familia is a massive cathedral that is still under construction. The church is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Barcelona, and its unique design makes it one of the most photogenic spots in the city.
The outside of the church is decorated with intricate details and sculptures, making it a popular spot for taking pictures. The inside of the church is just as beautiful, with stained glass windows and towering columns. The light that streams through the windows creates a stunning effect, and the overall atmosphere of the church is one of peace and serenity.
4. Barceloneta Beach
Barceloneta Beach is the perfect spot to relax and take in the stunning views of Barcelona. The beach is also home to a number of restaurants and bars, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal or a drink while watching (and photographing) the sunset. The beach is framed by some beautiful buildings, from the metropolitan skyscrapers, to the iconic W Hotel, which sits at one end of the sandy stretch.
