To make any trip, a memorable one, many elements play together. One such very important element is the kind of accommodation we choose.I am sure most of you would agree on this, especially those travelling with babies or toddlers.
Being someone who travels with family, we spend quiet a lot of time at the hotel. That’s why I am more particular in choosing the accommodation.
During our recent trip to Phuket, we stayed at Ban Laimai beach resort. We had quite a pleasant stay. Here is a review of the property.
About the Property
Ban Lamai is a contemporary Hotel located just a few steps away from the famous Patong beach. It’s a 4 star property with a large number of rooms to offer. Although the property is not unique, but given its location, amenities, huge swimming pool, live entertainment at open restobar every night makes it special. I found the atmosphere here quite happy, lively and entertaining.
Location
Located right in front of Patong beach, the most happening area of Phuket, Baan Laimai is an ideal place if you enjoy a lot of action. Given its proximity to beach, street markets, famous Bangla Road and Jungcylon mall, Baan Laimai is very convenient. (Especially those visiting Phuket for the first time and want to explore everything). Most of the evenings we walked around the area to explore the markets, restaurants etc. You can also find a lot of Indian restaurants in and around the property. Its easy to get a bus/ taxi from the main road right outside the resort.
Ambience
Hotel has a contemporary design with the touch of Thai traditional art. I found the décor in the lobby area very unique and interesting. Specially the sitout area, each set of furniture was different in its own way. The large wall fountain with the colorful fishes at the Lobby catches the attention.
Grass lawn outlined with flowering trees landscaped with the wooden bridge above the huge swimming pools is the best and the most interesting part!
Rooms
Rooms are quite spacious and well ventilated. We chose the pool facing room, which was on the 6th floor. Balcony was large and offered a beautiful view of the pool along with the Street and a little bit of sea!Evenings we could enjoy the live performance at the open restaurant right from our balcony.
Well one thing you need to keep in mind hotel doesn’t provide some of the basic stuff like dental kit, bath robe etc. Rest of the things like 2 water bottles per day, tea coffee etc are there. We chose the room with free wifi.
Amenities
The hotel offers a lot of Amenities including a huge pool running across the property, with a swim up bar, sit out restaurant, fitness center, travel desk, artifacts store, live music performance, best of all, a nice kids play area to keep your toddler engaged.
Restaurant & Food
Being a vegetarian, this part was kind of disappointing for me. The choice offered for vegans was very limited both for the room service ordering and at the buffet breakfast. It would have been nice if they had some more variety for vegan. Well this was compensated with the multiple eating joints available right outside.
We enjoyed the evenings at the sit out restaurant listening to the live performance and evening breeze.
Service
Service was fast which included regular cleaning of the room; changing of linens etc. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
Overall we had a pleasant and comfortable stay at this hotel.
