Hotel Review: Nirwana Resort Hotel, Bintan Indonesia, Ideal family getaway!

The moment we decided to include Bintan to our already planned Singapore trip, I hit the search button to find out some of the good resorts in the Island.

Our only agenda in Bintan was to relax and enjoy the beach as much as possible. For those who haven’t heard of Bintan before, here is my earlier blog with all the information you need to know about this beautiful Indonesian Island. Bintan, Indonesia: Perfect weekend getaway from Singapore. Major attractions

Being someone who loves to explore and experience new things, I pay a lot of attention to the place where we plan to stay. While looking for the resorts in Bintan, one of the criteria was to get easy access to the beach.

Soon I realized, Bintan had an overwhelming choice of luxury resorts and choosing one can get quite confusing.

Bintan resort area in North of Bintan is the place if you are looking for Luxury resorts with best of amenities. It was tough to zero down on one property as all the resorts looked unique & charming in their own ways! After considering the budgets and reading reviews, we finalized on Nirwana Resort Hotel. The resort definitely lived up to our expectations and we had a very pleasant time.

Here is my review about the property.

Just to let you know, this is not a sponsored post. I write reviews of only those properties where we had pleasant and unique experiences.

Our Arrival!

When we landed at Bandar Bentan Telani ferry terminal, we had no clue on how to reach the hotel. It was a pleasant surprise to see Resort Shuttle waiting for us at the entrance.

After 10 -15 mins drive, as the shuttle entered the gates of Nirwana gardens, we were welcomed by thick woods on both sides of the road, beautifully landscaped garden with fountains. Although we knew that it’s a big property, but vastness was nothing like we had envisaged. From the entrance gate, the main building was almost a kilometer away. Lobby was equally grand and impressive. In-house artists dressed in traditional attire, dancing to the tunes of traditional music, welcomed us. From the lobby one could view palm-fringed garden with stunning infinity pool, right in front of the beach. After a little wait, we received our room, which was deluxe class with garden view. The next 3 days we enjoyed a relaxed and pleasant stay at this tropical paradise. Sharing some details about the property.

Hotel Lobby, Nirwana gardens.jpgInfinity pool, Nirwana garden.jpgLocation – Nirwana resorts is located in northwestern coast of Bintan Island, about 10-15 minutes drive away from Bintan Ferry Terminal. Hotel provides free Transfers with every room booking. On one side, Nirwana resort hotel over looks South China Sea and a beautiful white sand beach, perfect for a relaxed walk.

Ambience – Nirwana resort hotel has a very tropical and vibrant feel to it. Grand lobby with high wooden roof, large open spaces, and themed restaurants offering different cuisines, Lush green tropical land and Sun kissed white sand beach, adds to the beauty of the resort. In my opinion the most attractive feature of the resort was an incredible infinity pool. Spending time in the pool was the most exciting part of our stay.

Hotel also promotes eco tourism and you will definitely feel surrounded by nature. While we were lazing around the pool we were surprised and taken aback to see a monitor lizard resting by the pool, and hotel staff informed us that it’s harmless.

Our little one had a great and exciting time, spotting iguanas and monitor lizards, imagining that they are Dinosaurs 🙂

Rooms – Well for sure the rooms are not the best part of the resort. The room where we stayed in was little run down and outdated. Although they provide all the basic amenities like toiletries, towels, room slippers.

Amenities – Apart from the usual facilities like gym, spa, pool, room service etc, Resort boasts of many unique features. One of the most striking amongst them is pick and drop facility (available every half an hour) to explore restaurants across any of the 5 resorts. Since resort area is too big to be discovered by foot, shuttle service is provided.

Happy valley is the recreation center where you can enjoy many activities including archery, fishing, shooting, Zip line, bowling etc.

Resort also has Elephant Park and mini zoo where you can feed bananas to the elephants.

Apart from this some special adventure activities are like ATV ride, buggy on rent to explore the resort area (you need a driving license to rent the same), the unique guided tour through Segway and host of other water activities like under sea walk, jet sky are available.

So many options to suit to everybody’s interest will surely spoil you for Choice.

Restaurant & Food- There are choices of exquisite and delectable cuisines, such as Japanese food, Korean, Thai, Indian, Local Indonesian food among others. Each of the 9 restaurants (including all the resorts in Nirwana garden) has different themes and beautiful ambience.

I particularly loved and recommend visiting Calypso floating bar, if you want to enjoy your drinks with beautiful view of the sea.

 Some of helpful services –

  • Definitely free shuttle service was a great help, not only for transfers to ferry terminal but also for exploring area in and around. Free shuttle is provided to visit Lagoi plaza mall.
  • Each of the restaurants in Nirwana resort hotel had a special custom-made kids menu.
  • I suggest to take a room plan with breakfast included as they offer a vast spread of sumptuous breakfast at the coffee shop which includes continental, English and local (one Indian dish also)

Finally I will highly recommend Nirwana Resort Hotel to anybody looking to spend a relaxed and joyful time with family.

Like it! pin it !
