I have to admit, I never heard of Pollachi, until I came across some videos of this beautiful property. For those of you who didn’t know about this hidden gem, Pollachi is a small town in Tamil Nadu.
When I discussed it with my friends, many recommended exploring Pollachi. So we planned a road trip to Pollachi from Bengaluru, not knowing what to expect.

During our 3-day 2-night trip, we stayed at the most beautiful luxury resort in Pollachi- Coco Lagoon by Great Mount.
In this blog, I will share an honest review of the property including the activities we tried and what makes Coco Lagoon a perfect family getaway.
Best Luxury Resort in Pollachi – Coco Lagoon by Great Mount
Nestled in the picturesque town of Pollachi, Coco Lagoon by Great Mount captivated us with its serenity, greenery and luxury. Our decision to spend a weekend at this resort turned out to be a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Our Arrival at Coco Lagoon– Smooth Check-in Experience
Greeted with warmth upon our arrival, we felt an immediate connection to the tranquil environment. The check-in process was quick and seamless. Our room was ready and assigned to us in no time.
Ambience – Resort with a Pond & infinity pool
The moment we walked past the reception, we came across an infinity pool overlooking a tranquil Pond. The villas & rooms surrounded the pond along with palm trees. The whole atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming.
The resort is built on a large area with ample open green space, which is a delight for nature lovers as well as families with your kids alike.
Accommodation
Coco Lagoon offers a variety of accommodation options to suit every traveller.
• Plunge Pool Villas – Suitable for a private, relaxing retreat.
• Pond View Suites – Ideal for nature lovers who want to wake up to serene water views
• Tropical Suites (Balcony & Lawn Access) – spacious suites with large windows and a private balcony overlooking lush greenery. Perfect for a relaxing getaway
• Executive Deluxe – Comfortable rooms with modern amenities.
We stayed in the Tropical Suite with lawn access, which was wonderful. The suite was spacious, with a cosy sitting area, a well-equipped kitchenette, a comfortable bedroom with a large closet, and a generously sized washroom. The wall-sized glass doors opened straight into the lush green garden. We enjoyed our stay at this luxurious retreat.
Hospitality
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality at Coco Lagoon stood out. The staff was friendly and eager to assist whenever required—special mention to Christopher, who helped us to experience different activities offered at the resort.
Activities – Perfect stay for families
The resort offers various activities to keep guests of all ages engaged. These activities include
1. River Trail walking: Enjoy walking on the river trail and dip in the clean chilled river water. Of all the activities offered at the resort, spending time at the river was my favourite. We loved the river trail walk which is a 5-minute walk from the property. Strolling along the gently flowing river, surrounded by the serene beauty of nature, felt incredibly calming and refreshing. The highlight was walking through the shallow waters, letting the cool, crystal-clear stream flow around our feet. It was a peaceful, grounding experience that left us completely relaxed and connected to nature.
2. Boating: The resort is beautifully designed, with a stunning pond where guests can enjoy a fun paddle boat ride.
3. Bullock cart ride: The nostalgic Bullock cart ride on the palm-fringed countryside roads is a fun activity for both adults and kids.
4. Pottery: Experience traditional pottery making with the help of a seasoned potter.
5. Magic show: The resort organises a fantastic magic show by world-renowned magicians. This one-hour show organised during the evenings is the major attraction among the children. The show was very interactive and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.
6. Bonfire and barbeque: The resort also organises bonfires and barbeque during the evenings.
Amenities
Coco Lagoon offers various amenities to make your stay at the resort pleasant. The amenities include Indoor and outdoor games, a multicuisine restaurant, an infinity swimming pool, a Conference room, kids’ play area. Room amenities like tea coffee maker, hair dryer, towels etc.
The breakfast buffet at the Palm Multicuisine restaurant was delicious with a great selection of dishes to choose from. We relished our breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant and eagerly looked forward to the meal time. We also tried some of the local dishes at the restaurant.
Some of the amenities not available in the resort at the moment are a spa, liquor ( it’s not allowed inside the property) & gym.

Places to visit in & around Pollachi, Tamilnadu
Beyond the resort, the surrounding area offers plenty of natural wonders to explore.
1. Aliyar Dam, with its stunning views and peaceful ambience, is just a short drive away. The view from the top of the dam will undoubtedly make you feel like you are in some European Country! Gorgeous Picture perfect views!
2. For waterfall lovers, the Monkey Waterfalls provide a refreshing retreat amidst lush greenery.
3. Wildlife enthusiasts can visit the Anamalai Tiger Reserve and Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, both known for their rich biodiversity and thrilling safari experiences.
4. Explore Coimbatore or shop for clothes at Tirupur
5.If you’re up for a scenic drive, the Valparai Hill Station is a must-visit. The journey itself is breathtaking, with winding roads, tea plantations, and stunning viewpoints along the way. For those planning to explore nearby destinations like Coimbatore or Valparai, this resort makes an ideal base.
How to Reach Coco Lagoon by Great Mount, Pollachi
Getting to Coco Lagoon by Great Mount is convenient, whether you’re travelling by air, train, or road:
By Air: The nearest airport is Coimbatore International Airport (CJB), approximately 60 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or book a cab for a scenic 1.5-hour drive to the resort.
By Train: The closest railway station is Pollachi Junction, about 12 km from the resort. Regular trains connect Pollachi to major cities like Coimbatore, Chennai, and Madurai. From the station, taxis and auto-rickshaws are easily available for a short 20-minute ride.
By Road: Pollachi is well-connected by road, making it a great option for a road trip. You can drive from Coimbatore (60 km), Chennai (525 km), or Bangalore (380 km). The roads are scenic, with coconut groves and lush greenery surrounding them. Private cars and buses are also available from nearby cities.
We loved our stay at Coco Lagoon, it helped us unwind & connect with nature. Our overall Pollachi experience became all the more special, thanks to Coco Lagoon. If you are looking for a peaceful & scenic getaway from Bangalore ( or any other city), Do include Pollachi on your bucket list.
