Spread over 10 acres of lush forest nestled deep within the western ghats, Deva Dhare offers a perfect escape from the hectic city life. The moment you enter the resort, the time seems to slow down and a sense of pure bliss prevails.

The best part is, this resort is designed in a way that the surrounding forest remains untouched or the least disturbed blending perfectly with nature. Their dining space, the vault is an architectural marvel and a sight to behold. A floating brick canopy built without columns from locally sourced materials. Amazing isn’t it?
Deva Dhare has won several design awards for its unique & sustainable design. Some include the Small Project of the Year, World Architecture Award, Lighting Design Awards 2022, and ADF Excellence Awards 2023.

Deva Dhare resort is located in Sakleshpur, around 240 km from Bangalore. You can reach Sakleshpur by Bus, train, cab, or your own vehicle.

The resort offers multiple stay options including, spacious & aesthetic rooms with balconies, family rooms, cottages, and tree houses. One can choose the accommodation of their liking according to the group size, preference, and budget.
During our two-day stay at the resort, we stayed at a tree house for a day and the deluxe room for a day. Both the stay categories were comfortable. The treehouse was cozy yet spacious, beautifully designed with wooden interiors that gave it a warm, rustic charm. But don’t be fooled by its earthy vibe—modern amenities like comfortable bedding, air conditioning, and a well-equipped bathroom, ensured a cozy stay.
Needless to say, our vote still goes to the tree house.

Deva Dhare offers an array of amenities to make the stay comfortable & pleasurable for the whole family. Their amenities include all meals (part of the stay package), bath towels, toiletries, a coffee maker, a mini refrigerator, a TV, and free WIFI.
Currently, the property doesn’t have a swimming pool ( it’s under construction is what I was told) or spa.
Adventure & Activities: Perfect getaway for the whole family
One of the things we loved about Deva Dhare was the perfect balance between a slow-paced stay and fun activities. Not too many to overwhelm you, just enough to keep everyone engaged & that’s the best part I feel.
• Kayaking on the lake was one of my favorite experiences—it was peaceful yet refreshing to paddle through the calm waters surrounded by greenery.
• Kids’ Play area including sea saw, swings, sand pit, etc to keep them busy
• The trekking trails around the resort were an absolute delight, offering breathtaking views at every turn.
• A cascading waterfall at the property offers a perfect hike opportunity and a spot for a quick dip. The cool, crystal-clear water was just what I needed to refresh and rejuvenate.
• Campfire during the Evenings was all about sitting under the sky full of stars, sharing stories, and enjoying the warmth of the fire.
• Mud volleyball is an absolute must-try especially if you are travelling in the group! It’s messy, hilarious, and so much fun!
• Night-time nature walks, we experienced this enriching walk with their naturalist who happened to be at the resort the same time, although I am not sure if this is a regular activity.
Food: Malnad on a Plate
No trip is complete without good food, and Deva Dhare’s floating restaurant, The Vault, is where the magic happens. With a serene lake as the backdrop, every meal here felt special.
Their menu celebrates the flavors of Malnad, and everything tastes fresh and homely. I loved their neer dosa and akki roti.

I feel the prices are an absolute value for money. The package includes all 3 meals.
Cottages: *₹6,000 per person per night (plus taxes)
Premium Treehouse: ₹7,500 per person per night (plus taxes)
However, it is advisable to connect directly with the resort to check current tariffs and offerings.
Our overall experience at Deva Dhara Resort
By now, I am sure you know that our experience was nothing less than extraordinary. The greenery, the tranquil water bodies, short hikes to the waterfall, and observing nature from up close gave us an opportunity to slow down and be in the moment, something we miss out on during our daily hustle.
My son especially loved the bunk bed at the top of the tree house, it was his favorite hideout. Also, the nighttime nature walk was his favorite activity where he got to spot ivy snakes, a variety of spiders, and caterpillars. It was heart-warming to see the child engrossed and taking so much interest in nature.
This peaceful & unique stay at Deva Dhare definitely gave us an opportunity to bond with nature and spend quality time with each other.
