Hotel Review: Ao Nang Villa Resort, Krabi, A Peaceful gateway in a busy tourist hub

Kind of resort or Hotel I prefer … A place not too far from major tourist area yet secluded, peaceful and surrounded by natural beauty. If it’s a beach location, than something with a private beach or overlooking sea or at least walking distance from beach is just perfect for us.

On our recent trip to Krabi, we stayed at one such Resort. Ao Nang Villa Resort

Read my other blogs on Krabi Island hopping – 4 Islands Tour, Krabi, A learning experience! , Exploring Krabi in 3 days

Although out of 3 days, we stayed here just for a day (don’t ask me why, that’s a different story) but we really loved the place and wished we could have stayed a bit longer. Here is my review of this property!

 About the Property

Set beneath the soaring limestone cliffs and overlooking gorgeous Andaman sea, Ao Nang Villa Resort is a contemporary up market property spread over a sizable Area. Despite being located in the tourist district of Ao Nang, this resort is quite serene and noise free. It’s a 4 star property with different blocks offering many rooms, elegantly landscaped and designed in a way that you don’t feel any kind of clutter or disturbance.

Location

Ao nang villa resort is located right in front of Ao nang beach from one side and the lively Ao nang market on the other side. Just cross the road and you are on the beach, or walk down to the market for some entertainment, food, shopping. Ao nang is the tourist centre of Krabi and from here you can opt for different sightseeing tours from the range of options available.

Ambience

The resort complex is surrounded by lush green foliage and the limestone cliffs at the backdrop add to its beauty. The elegant design of the property makes you feel close to nature. Here you will not realize that you are in the middle of the busiest tourist center of Krabi. Entire property is airy with abundance of sun (and rain too)

Rooms

Rooms are spacious and provide complimentary Wi-Fi, TVs, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities and fruit basket. Washroom is also spacious with bathtub, hair dryer, bathrobe, beach towels and slippers. All the rooms have balconies or terraces; We opted for a pool facing room on the first floor, which turned out to be both pool as well as sea facing. It was really nice to have a cup of coffee in the morning at the balcony enjoying the view.

 Amenities

Resort offers an array of amenities including 2 outdoor pools, 1 kids pool, kids play area, a swim up bar, gym, a spa (I found it pretty expensive), Thai massage facility in front of pool (this was the best one, we had really nice and authentic Thai massage here, a must try!) 3 restaurants, one beach view bar and one swim up bar.

On your arrival welcome drinks and cold towels were offered. Complimentary tea/ coffee and snacks was also served at the coffee shop next to lobby. Breakfast is offered on chargeable basis.

Restaurant & Food

Property has 3 restaurants; all these restaurants are nice and airy. The bar with the beach view is too appealing; unfortunately due to lack of time we could not try out the restaurant or the bar.

Service

Staff at the resort was friendly and helpful. On our request the check out time was extended by 2 hours.

To conclude, Ao Nang villa resort is a perfect holiday destination not only for those travelling with the family but also for couple travellers. Your plan is to just sit back and relax whole day or go out and explore the town, this place serves as one of the best options.

    1. madhuonthego – India – Hi friends, I am Madhulika, my friends call me Madhu. A Marketing professional who loves to travel and explore the world. I have been bitten and smitten by the travel bug right from childhood n this love for traveling runs through our family. Madhuonthego is home to all my travel Experiences, Stories and Itineraries. I hope this will help you in some way or the other. Like many of the travel bloggers, I usually don't travel solo and I am not a backpacker either (though someday I would love to go through bag packing experience). I travel with my family or friends and love to treasure experiences ranging from luxury stay, spa, theme restaurants, adventure activities to budget trips. My dream is to travel around the world, so practically my wish list is never empty. I love to explore unheard offbeat destinations. So far I have been to 10 countries. Other than travelling I like to try out different cuisines and experience new restaurants. I am a vegetarian by choice. I love to shop. I hope my travel experiences will help you in some way or the other!

Ya we visited in May,I guess it was off season so it was much better

  1. Very informative blog with all the lovely pictures. Surely seems to be a great place to spend by the beach and soak up Thailand’s spectacular culture.
One feedback about the blog is that it can be narrated in the form of personal experiences and the emotions it invoked within the author. It would definitely give readers more ‘imagination’ while walking through the author’s narration.
