As we drove past the maddening city traffic, a narrow winding road welcomed us to the countryside. The picturesque road dotted with quaint houses, in the backdrop of gigantic monolith rocks, led us to the Wild Valley Mountain Bear Resort.

Wild Valley Mountain Bear Resort -A Day at the Resort 

After parking the car in open parking outside the resort, we entered through the main gain.

The front lawn with the pathway was lined with colorful flowers. Being a weekday, very few guests were there. So, we could have the whole resort to ourselves, the best part about traveling during the weekdays. Isn’t it? The friendly resort manager, Guru welcomed us and explained the activities available at the resort.

We decided to take a resort tour as soon as we finished our breakfast. The clear blue sky, tall trees, and huge mountains formed perfect mix for a peaceful and laid-back getaway. All I needed was a hammock and a book. But wait!

Not just a laidback weekend getaway

It’s not just a laidback weekend getaway. They have many adventure activities to keep you occupied throughout the day. (I will share the details of these activities a little later). The moment we reached the activity zone, chucking our plan to relax, we decided to indulge in some adrenaline rush.

The resort staff encouraging, they made us try all the activities. I loved the zipline along with the rope course. It was a thrilling experience. After finishing the activities, we decided to take a quick nap, followed by a sumptuous buffet lunch. Although I felt a bit lazy after lunch, not wanting to let go of the opportunity, we went for kayaking which was half a kilometer walk from the resort. It was a serene water body on the foothill of a gigantic mountain. We loved kayaking in the tranquil atmosphere and calm water. I must say, Kayaking was the most impressive experience of this trip. This one-day trip, although very short (I would have loved to spend a day more at this lovely place) due to time constraints was an enriching and fulfilling one. We loved the peaceful surrounding and the whole experience.

The Wild Valley Mountain Bear Resort – Location

It is situated around 65 km away from Bangalore in Ramanagaram district (Also famous for the shooting of the movie Sholay). It takes 1.5 – 2 hours to reach the resort (it may take less time if you start early morning). Located on the foothill of SRS Hill, the resort offers a picturesque view of the mountains. It is slightly off the main road, making it secluded and peace, yet easily accessible.

Stay option – Rooms/ Tents

The best part is you can choose to stay in temporary tents to enjoy the camping under the stars experience. But if you are not someone who prefers outdoor camping, they do have executive rooms and garden view rooms also. We stayed in the executive room. The room was clean and spacious, with basic amenities like a cupboard, towels, etc. Just a heads up the rooms are basic with no frills like a mini-fridge, hair dryer, etc. 

Activities

There are several activities available to enthrall you during your stay here. These are

1.         Zipline: Zipline is always a thrilling experience. I love to try it wherever I go. The zipline takes

you through the palm trees to the other side of the resort.

2.         Areal Cycling: How about cycling on a tight rope.Try to make a balance while enjoying this thrilling activity.

3.         Rope course: the best part about the 360-degree rope course here is that it’s not very high, so

even people who fear heights can try it. 

4.         Kayaking: One of my favorites. It was so much fun.

5.         Trekking: if you plan to stay at the resort, the package includes trekking to the nearby hill.

Unfortunately, we did not get time to experience trekking here.

6.         Rain dance: Dancing in the rain is always so much fun, especially if you are with a group of

friends. They have a rain dance zone with sprinklers installed.

7.         Swimming pool with Jacuzzi: The pool at the resort looks enticing and is a must-try.

Amenities

The Wild Valley mountain bear resort is a good deal for your Money. Its not a luxury property but a fun place to be. The resort offers all the basic amenities like meals, high tea, Swimming pool, parking facility, bonfire, etc. 

Pricing & packages

They have packages for both day-outing as well as stay options. The price starts from INR 2500 (for camping), including all meals and activities. It goes up to INR 4500 if you opt for a room. Overall experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the resort. I would have loved to stay back during the night to chill at the pool and experience the barbeque and the early morning trekking, which we missed. Nevertheless, we will plan the trip soon.

This resort is a perfect place to unwind with friends and family, also for team outings. Whether you choose a day outing or a stay package, you will love the experience. Try to visit during the weekdays to experience the tranquil environment.
